One of the aims of North and South is to encourage schools to make hands on astronomical observations using naked eyes, binoculars and telescopes and then record these by drawing and with digital cameras.
South African schools are in a state of flux with regard to computers. Some have almost no computer access whilst others have computer suites connected to the internet and their own websites. But things are changing fast and there are several initiatives aimed at putting computers into SA schools.
