Learning Science with SALT
With the new Southern African Large Telescope (SALT), South Africa has a place in the front rank of international space research. How does it work? What is special about it? How could you become a scientist using a telescope like this?
We are currently developing resources targeted at learners in South Africa and the United Kingdom. You will be able to find out how the telescope is engineered to use the motions of the Earth to point at objects in the sky, how it senses parts of the electromagnetic spectrum to see things never seen before and what scientists are planning to discover with this amazing new instrument.
