The Particle Physics and Astronomy Research Council [PPARC] is the UK 's strategic science investment agency. By directing, coordinating and funding research, education and training in particle physics and astronomy, PPARC delivers world-leading science, technologies and people for the UK . PPARC funds the organizations of the UK consortium who are partners in the Southern African Large Telescope (SALT). By supporting North and South, PPARC is helping schools to see how the international science community is working together to make discoveries with this amazing new instrument.
