The 109km diameter asteroid Athamantis spins on its own axis in almost exactly one Earth day but being out beyond Mars (at an average of 2.38 AU) it takes 3.68 Earth years to orbit the Sun.

Find out where it is now here.

Who's your Daddy? challenge - Did the meteorite Tatahouine come from Athamantis? Find out by taking a reflectance spectrum of the asteroid.

Press the button below to measure the reflectance of Athamantis.

The image used to represent Athamantis is of the asteroid Gaspra and was captured by the Galileo spacecraft. Like Athamantis, Gaspra is thought to be most similar to a group of meteorites called stony irons and would yield a similar reflectance spectrum.
