The Parkes radio telescope in New South Wales. Another movie star; its role as an Apollo 11 receiving station was shown in The Dish, The James Clerk Maxwell on Mauna Kea in Hawaii. Operated by the UK, Canada and the Netherlands, at 15m it is the largest telescope in the world dedicated to sub-millimetre wavelengths.
