We don't understand everything that goes on inside the Sun. No probes have been dropped into it (they would melt anyway). Instead, we get our information by looking at it and detecting the particles that stream away from it in the Solar Wind. Hundreds of scientists around the World are using telescopes on Earth and in space to find out more about how our star works. Our Star* will let you join them on this journey of discovery. Our Star* activities aim to challenge you to make your own observations of the Sun and use them together with near-real-time data from the SOHO and ACE space-based solar observatories and professional ground-based observatories around the World. As you start observing, you can use Our Star* Science to help you understand what you are seeing. There are lots of great sources of information about the Sun on the internet and there are also books which you can get from libraries.
